creature viktor nonhuman viktor transhumanist transgressive transgender viktor is textually so important as a pillar of the character concept and how he interfaces with his position in life. how that is a reclamation of a marginal position & it encompasses poverty/disability/sex and gender roles etc
this is literally jayvik and you gotta lock in. its about the beautiful monster that you love & who is the only person who sees you in a world dominated by capitalism and expectations of class and "usefulness" to the military machine... choosing love over compliance. eternal embrace underwater
I'm rewatching it right rn and when she says "the way he looks at me, he doesn't know what I lack or how I am incomplete. He sees me for what I am, as I am, he's happy to see me every time, every day..." and now I see it more that Jayce can be the monster and Viktor the human
it can go both ways but i genuinely just want to see more herald viktor stuff romanticizing his monster form (im biased: in the book its clear that the fish man is a God, and a very eldritch one at that by how he messes with the mind) and elisas hopeful dreamy wanting nature is soo jayce to me
oh yeah, the god detail make both ways look good actually, and I have to agree about needing more arcane herald Viktor content, been craving monster lover fluffs hhhhhh
