apparently twt is having discourse over whether or not jayce would resuscitate viktor against his wishes and im truly like wasnt that in the goddamn show

And this is all I need to know to understand that the arcane fandom in no way could handle jayce and marcille. Its okay my two favourite necromancers I understand you
Although the more I think about it I have no idea what they were going for with jayces arc how the hell do you go from necromancy to saying that people should have a choice. Keep it consistent arcane at least league jayce's character was consistent in this aspect of people having choices
i think what they were going for was "jayce learns to respect viktors wishes by listening to mage viktor and getting so horny abt him he is able to kill viktor, just like viktor asked" but it is so cartoon loneytunes as a plotline
I was made aware of this because some are trying to bring disabled rights into it and they’re the same people who defend Cait gassing people and argue with anyone with base level criticism towards the councilors.
It’s literally the same group. They wouldn’t have an issue with it if it wasn’t JayVik
I ran into people claiming that jvks are the fans forgive jayces and viktors actions while criticizing Cait during this discussion.
I also discovered this cause people were commenting to listen to disabled people's voices while only bringing up one major person's voice and ignoring all the others
It’s so strange because Jayce performing necromancy (a fictional thing) is a canon thing that happens, but the fans equating it to disobeying a DNR is somehow a grave offense.
In the same way you can bring up Cait gassing people as a police officer (a real thing), but you hate lesbians if you do.
And I’ve also only seen very very few people genuinely “defend” Jayce’s necromancy, it’s often done in a joking manner. Or a horny matter. People largely know that it was fucked up. The narrative tells you it’s fucked up and punishes Jayce for it.
Exactly they're acting as if pointing out his actions in a more modern setting is somehow the equivalent of you supporting this or thinking it's okay, when no people know it's wrong buts also very in character for jayce. I've even seen people claim that us saying this means we're fetishizing
Disabilities too when all that people are doing is giving jayce the traits he has. He's morally gray just like everyone else and that's what I enjoyed about arcane characters a lot do horrible actions in the act of love. Doesn't mean people are saying these actions are okay
Same! I think it adds an interesting layer to the character and deserves to be discussed. For some reason “this character has canonically done this” has started to be translated as “I believe this character doing this was a good thing” or “I am saying I hate the character by bringing this up.”
Wait, no. You can’t be forreal. That’d be like me getting involved in Dragone Age: Veilguard or Baldur’s Gate 3 discourse despite only knowing of those games through fandom osmosis. People can’t be that foolish, can they?
its so so fucking funny how the end of s2 is trying to address conflicts jayce and viktor have IN THE LEAGUE GAME that were never properly set up IN THE SHOW like the fanfic won
it's such a mess lmao and like yes i love arcane and jayvik and all, but it's really funny how contradictory the final is without the context of og league lore and how few people even notice
never let #those ppl watch iwtv/hannibal/GoT/hotd... they would have an aneurysm.. they hate when the characters are complex and not one dimensional do gooders
yeah the argument being that necromancy is fictional magic with no irl repercussions while disregarding a DNR isn't... almost as if in both of these cases viktor's consent isn't disregarded 💀 netflix needs to premiere the whole show again since people are starting to forget. it's getting ridiculous
Here in the UK, if someone is unconscious, needs CPR, & it's safe to do so (I.E. there's nothing dangerous in the environment like a live wire), consent for resuscitation is pretty much assumed
They wouldn't survive hannibal, babies first fandom as always, thinking people would do those things in real life 😭 they can feel uncomfortable all they want but no way they really think we are okay with that irl. Besides, it happened in the show
Also im pretty sure Viktor is the best thing that has happened to him in his perspective, it's selfish and morally questionable?? Yes, it's ooc?? No, bc its literally what happends LMAO
They're acting like this being put in a modern AU means you are supporting it, when this is just paralleling what jayce does in the show. Saw people even argue that viktor wouldn't forgive jayce, which if we parallel the show he would. Vik has forgiven him from resurrecting him, ask for Jayce back
after he was shot, got shot again and said he was pleased to see jayce. The whole point of their character is that they're so unhealthy co dependent that they almost caused the end of the world. Apparently exploring this in other forms means supporting and that your abilities too. This conversation
Was twisted to be about disability and claiming all jvk fans are abilist. ignoring the opinion of disabled people who dont agree only to favor the ones that do and treat them as the voice of the disabled community in the Fandom. I hate when people pick and choose who should be our voice
Basically they're acting like putting jayce and viktor situations into a modern version means they're condoning disabled people to not have as say to our own bodies which no one has said. Majority is just pointing out that jayce would
Also I've seen so many admit they never watch the show and act discussed over this action ( which is the whole point your not supposed to agree with jayce) but why are you stating an opinion over a show you know nothing about or how the characters would even act or do
im gonna hold ur hand when i say this but a tweet abt jayce taking off viktors do-not-ressucitate bracelet went viral and then many, many posts spawned.......
Hang on coming back to this after thinking. I guess you could argue that Viktor told him to destroy the Hexcore, not specifically to let him die, so the DNR thing isn’t comparable but that’s absolutely what the text is getting at, especially since Viktor says “I was supposed to die”
Apparently, they closed their eyes and covered their ears during those scenes where Jayce committed necromancy on Viktor. They're four months late and still don't even know where the hell they're standing.
I would say I'm surprised but I'm not (i can't even say people only see what they want cause in this case there's no other explanations other that the one you've in front of your own eyes😭)

That's honestly insane to think about
Then again, it hear you can get sued in the USA for giving CPR to people
You'd pretty much be laughed out of court
I was about to lapse into psychosis
