I find it funny how all the congressional Republicans talk about DC vs Real America, but then when they lose office, do they go back to Real America and have normal lives? No, they stay in DC and run a SuperPAC.

I mean, at least Democrats acknowledge being the party of government, so it's reasonably consistent if they continue to hang around it. Makes zero sense for Republicans.

I believe it was Tom Nichols (my attribution may be wrong) who said that many congressional republicans don't necessarily like their home states and just like to whine about the 'elites' in DC because DC is an easy target

As @radiofreetom.bsky.social likes to point out, none of these folks actually want to have to go back and live among their constituents. Guys like Josh Hawley don't even have a house in the state they represent any more.
