No bid on 3 GW offshore Danish windpark.
Operators are afraid energy it produces will not be worth enough, because it's produced at times when there's so much wind and so little demand that the energy price becomes very low.
One way to solve this is by subsidizing batteries that even out demand.

Zero bids came in for Denmark's 3 GW offshore wind tender. This shows that the economics, with no subsidy and an annual payment to government for the concession, were not good. www.offshorewind.biz/2024/12/06/z... π§΅

If Denmark really really really wants to build more wind, it should look to interconnections towards the Italy/Greece/Poland directions, or P2X
Otherwise, forget about it, and build solar
This means you need multi-day storage, while batteries are only now emerging as a viable day-to-night solution

In Texas the wind blows during night, but let us stay in Europe.
But to help wind, you'd need to build way more batteries than what's necessary for intraday, and that would not be profitable
But the first problem is lacking demand. Doesnβt make sense to produce something no one needs. Europe needs more industrial investment

We need a capacity remuneration for wind & solar. Adding massive wind, the spread on the hourly market prices with lots of wind and few will deepen and make batteries and DSM financially rewarding.
But they are not the solution to secure long-term investment in wind power.
Why Big Oil doesn't have to pay for the damage they cause?
Let us secure our basic energy needs with clean home generate energy and pay for it what is needed.
