That all sounds great but at the same time, Sweden is not a safe country due to their political ideologies. An explosion every day this year? Thats mad crazy to act like everything is fine.
Seriously? You’re gaslighting explosions from 2020? Compare apples and apples. In 2023, Sweden had 92 cases of deadly violence. The US had over 40K gun deaths. Tell me how Sweden isn’t safe?
It kills me how Americans have demonized anything with "socio" or "social" in it's name. I'm sure most tRump supporters believe socialists are akin to the dreaded communists. YIKES!
there is no logical reason the USA cannot have the same benefitsif this would happen..
In May 2024, U.S. billionaire investor Warren Buffett said, "If you don’t like paying taxes, make billionaires pay their fair share and you would never have to pay taxes again."
The vast majority of people I spoke to about taxes would point to a sense of security as the #1 benefit.
Not having to worry about *anything* does wonders for one’s wellbeing. Unemployed, sudden illness, injury, whatever the case, they know they’ll be taken care of until able to work again.
I’m guessing Rupert Murdocks propaganda hasn’t rotted the brains of Swedish citizens yet. We can’t have nice things here because everything to the left of maga is Marxist communism according to idiots that no one but progressives push back against.
Both have wealthy people. One big difference is the Nordic Social Democracies (which are also capitalist) have progressive taxation. The wealthy don’t get to hoard or get crazy tax breaks like here

Plus, it only cost ~$20 total to see a Dr (on the weekend) when I came down with mononucleosis. Pretty sure the the gov reimbursed me later too.

It’s hard to gripe when you receive a plethora of tangible benefits and have a steady sense of security in return.
