I've got all endings in original Silent Hill 2 recorded. Footage of all versions, and footage of each unlockable. That feeling of "Oh shit, I'm about to tackle the RE4/FF7 of the SH series" is just setting in now... π±

Just got into the series and I'm honestly surprised how personal 2 felt compared to SH1. No real mention of the cult or really any connection to any kind of canon.
I was kinda surprised they don't seem to have stuck to that in later games. Just jumped into 3 and it's akready setting up cult stuff.
Is re4 considered the best of resident evil? I always thought it played as a fps action game just with zombies instead of other things. That said I played it once like fifteen years ago so I could be misremembering!
I gotta imagine thatβs intimidating π but you got this! Donβt sweat it! Youβre a huge fan of the series and that passion will make the video great!
I guess I expected to get the "SH2 Directors cut ending" where James walks through the graveyard with Laura as Mary reads the rest of the letter in her dramatic way. I didn't know the in water ending was canon
No ending is canon per say. Some say all the endings are canon if you believe in the loop theory. But fans mainly think Water is the canon, because in Silent Hill 4, James is considered missing. If he was raising Laura, he probably wouldn't be.
Eh. I'm one of the few who never saw it that way. I feel SH1 was more the ground breaker, and SH2 more of just took what worked, and redid with better graphics. But I get it. For some SH2 is "the" horror game.
It's interesting how a specific entry in a video game series can make such an impact with the perspective of fine tuning the previously established things that made the public like it. It makes it feel familiar but also new.
Suzi, you've always had very insightful takes over the things you cover in your vids. While SH2 is something of the "Golden Goose" As it were I have no doubt whatever you have to say regarding this game, and the franchise on the whole, there will be passion poured in, and that will shine through.

All that effort makes you one of the best game reviewers.

"Oh shit, I really wanna make sure I treat the subject with the proper respect"
...kind of "Oh shit" or is it more the...
"Oh shit, whatever I'm gonna say about it, someone is gonna get triggered"
kind?
"Oh shit"?
Sheesh I am not used to being able to write bigger posts anymore, bluesky sure shows what a toxic relationship I have been in this last year.
