The fascist NF only gained 3.5% in the 1935 elections. I guess, their municipal votes probably reflected more wheter by chance someone was organzing fascists in a village than the general degree of sympathy for fascism (as in Germany). Could this be a reason for the lack of historical continuity?

Polarization and extreme positions are not typical Swiss! In Switzerland we seek the consensus! This is the reason the SVP lost the votes on main topics they launched in the last years.

Oh, herzlichen Dank! Das bestätigt meinen Eindruck aus der anderen Grafik, dass die Wählerschaft der SP geeinter ist als die der SVP und anderer Parteien. Nur zu meinem Verständnis: wurde in der Wahlstudie auch salience gemessen, oder werden alle 11 thematischen Fragen gleich gewichtet?
