Goro seems to keep from having a palace because he accepts that he is evil and doing evil things.

But isn't that a kind of distorted thinking in and of itself? He's a person who has been hurt and wronged, and there was nothing wrong with him to begin with. A child isn't born "curses" he gets cursed by the people around him.

that is a really cool idea!! that's sort of what happens i guess when they defeat yaldaboath and yet the public remains a passive component there just to materialize the metaverse. the storyline returns to the adults v children one instead of public action

honestly i think mementos was a cool way to sort of address distortion and universalize it. there's a lot in the game to analyze that the game itself fails to actively narrativize...
