[Winnipeg]
Going to Winnipeg tomorrow for a seminar visit, but I'll have a little bit of free time. Restaurant, bookstore, and nature walk location recommendations very welcome!

@sundogplanets given that you asked, I do miss frozenshithole.net (A single-serving site written by a friend and lifelong resident that would parse a weather feed and translate it into one of three sentences, the contents of which are lost to my memory. )
@tops @sundogplanets Single serving site name based on lived experience and this banger https://venetiansnares.bandcamp.com/album/winnipeg-is-a-frozen-shithole
(PS. I've got not much more than some tongue in cheek advice for Winnipeg but please do enjoy your visit as best you can)
@sundogplanets The only thing I know about Winnipeg is that my parents honeymooned there in...1962. 😀
@sundogplanets No recommendations, but I stayed in Winnipeg for a year as an exchange student back in 2004-2005 and really enjoyed it. Have a nice trip and please share some impressions! I like following your account for some prairies vibes.
@sundogplanets The Forks is classic, Assiniboine Forest, etc
