I was a supporter of FEMA, but at this point, after so much maligning by red state residents - it's time to give voters what they want and make emergency/disaster funding/services rely solely on its state.

The sad and frustrating thing is, I don't believe - the past 4.5 years is evidence of this - that MAGA/Republican voters are capable of looking at any situation (even their own) without MAGA filters. If Trump tells them "this is good" their thought process ends there.

I personally don’t think hard core CULT MAGA make up more than 20% of voters (in total). Some of them may actually be getting disillusioned (finally) with Trump from things I’ve read. If they lose their Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid I think people will be ANGRY towards MUSK & possibly Trump.

Yeah I hope for their sakes (the 20%) and the sake of the country that clear eyes prevail. Like you say, they certainly would - if social security, medicare, and medicaid were significantly decreased asap. But from what I've read, it will be a "lobster boil" process. My hope is in the rest of us!
