1/5 the little book of lgbtq+ by Harriet Dyer. Very cute very short book. Kinda feels like cheating, but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything for a book I’m writing. A nice little intro

2/5 - Queer as Folklore by Sacha Coward. Loved loved loved this book. Very informative and I learnt a lot about queer history! A lot meatier than I thought it would be and it was great!

3/5 - Turbulence by Annette Herfkens - I enjoyed reading a lot Herfken’s experiences. The book wasn’t quite what I was expecting but it was interesting. Not really the writing style I gel with, but it’s always nice to see a different POV

4/5 - The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. I actually really enjoyed this! It scratches the right Greek myth itch I have. The ending was adorable. A few things around characterisation of Patroclus I wasn’t hugely fond of, but I enjoyed it overall!

5/5 - and finally, the Iliad by Homer. A classic and a re-read. I was inspired to give it another go (I tried when I was 18 and did not appreciate it like I do now) because of Miller’s book. Kinda hard to review a classic but I’m glad I came back to this now I’m older :-)
