I guess Terraria was written partly with microsoft's XNA framework which apparently screwed over gamedevs by being killed by microsoft while they were making games with it, so the devs moved to Unity. This was the story with The Swindle. The cycle continues.
I don't really understand what the XNA framework was or how much it was killed off, since a lot of games made with it still seem to work, but it apparently was a big deal to some devs!
