Let's be fair... United States did very similar to the Japanese that were living here by placing them in interment camps at the same time. Don't forget the residential schools which weren't just in Canada but Canada copied the United States schools
Agree, and it was admitted even back then that the internments were unconstitutional. But a country should learn from history, not repeat the bad stuff.

A vulnerable segment of the citizenry was easily fooled by hate- and fear-mongering. They bought the rhetoric that those socioeconomically beneath or equal to them were the problem. They never had the mental capacity to think critically or logically and simply followed the bullshit they eat.
