There was poll out on what was the most trusted papers by MPs. The FT was a clear winner. I was chatting to a very sensible friend about this and his reaction to the FT was 'its boring' he then paused and saw the problem. No idea what can be done though

Media shills (who just complain about costs) will look very silly when elec prices inevitably fall, as expensive legacy ROC expires and cheaper CFD comes in

Hes pushing too fast&the only beneficiaries will be overseas manufacturers not UK. A better strategy would have been to have a 50% local content requirement & accept that a couple of extra years would be lost establishing manufacturing in the UK but we would then be better placed for the long term.

Overall net zero policy is so obviously deeply necessary and needed, but the wrong levers and the wrong cost apportionment are being selected.

Get those wrong and the right-wing has missteps to exploit for egregious aims.

It would help if Ed could present as less of a policy wonk. Renewables are cheap for you & me at home and for the nation. They offer national energy security. They are clean and will keep us competitive as a trading nation. We all need cheap energy.

This, with solar batteries ASHP and EV our bills are cheaper, last month our total energy cost an average of 14p per kWh and many manage cheaper than that with better energy management practices.

Labour made some big climate promises at the election, Conservatives promised to slow down, so it was a pretty clear verdict. Doing it well, quickly, is harder though.
