I get the sentiment here but I always find myself rolling my eyes at hypotheticals like this because it implicitly assumes there’s a commonly accepted standard for behavior among political leaders. In reality, the republicans have gotten away with shit the democrats wouldn’t have for decades.

Crazy. Most of the NIH funding is paid out through grants which support academic research in hospitals, and universities and fund fellowships in science to our most brilliant young people in the medical and biologic sciences. Pull he plug on that and you destroy the pharma industry.
