As Amazon joins numerous companies retreating from their DEI commitments, Apple is going in the opposite direction and urging shareholders to vote against a proposal to eliminate its DEI programs.

I'm very worried about Google backsliding on DEI, since they control so much information, the storage of documents and photos, and monetary transactions.
Podcasts and videos are an important way for marginalized groups to express firsthand who they are and what they believe, and to push back on misinformation.
Google, Amazon etc control much of the distribution of podcasted content and I'm wondering if that content is now going to be suppressed.
We need to stop giving money to billionaires. Even the ones at Apple. (I assume there are one or two.) We need to stop concentrating our disposable (maniacal laugh) income into the hands of a few.
No comment yet from AT&T about its commitment to #DEI, after right-wing shareholder activist group announced Friday that it had successfully negotiated an agreement with the telecom giant to make policy DEI changes.
Apple must be so conflicted. Or did the million he gave towards Trumps inauguration, come straight outta Tim's own pocket? So, we're for DEI and Trumps presidency...
Probably realized they stand to lose a lot of they back this stupidity. Companies don't do the right thing for moral reasons. Only if it aligns with money.
Companies forgot that they have a commitment to the society and the DEI programs and inclusivity are important. It is called social responsibility. I am sick of this selfish society and mentality. It is making us less human and happy.
I think some retrenchment is desirable. I used to work for an organization that made DEI a c-suite position; I think that's obviously not necessary and just a performative action. But we should be keeping all the programs and commitments, for sure.
If everyone went on mass strike and shut down everything that's critical to their precious economy they would give us what we wanted in days. Literally.
And they can't do anything to us for refusing to go to work and staying at home.

This is what we all need to do. It's the way.
