in order to achieve the analogue look it has to pass via composite onto a device then back into computer. I play with variations of both analogue and digital. I'm never fully satisfied with digital analogue effects that assimilate analogue grading, but I do use it subtlety.
I prefer not to call it "vintage" too. I asked because the interlace "bounce" looks authentic, and I don't really see that with modern fakery. Boards of Canada also use analogue recording hardware to get an authentic sound.
always better to use what WAS used if trying to make anything look/sound how it was done. If not close as possible at least. Shame the 4 tube studio cameras and gear are not easily available anymore as this is crucial to obtaining the pre 85 aesthetic.
