I absolutely adored Name of the wind and Wise man’s fear. Such well-written books, beautiful characters, captivating story. I feel so bad for Patrick Rothfuss that he seems to be stuck in a horrific writer‘s block since. I sometimes wonder if that would have happened if he hadn’t gotten so popular.

I love them too, even if some passages feel a bit “incel” after a reread. I totally understand writer’s block and I think he also has ADHD. Wouldn’t have any issue if he didn’t release anything more but he really need to stop making promises…

Yes, I also totally do understand him, especially the pressure of keeping up with your own „genius“ when you feel that you don’t have fully control over how your brain is working…
I actually stopped following his journey 5 or 6 years ago, as I felt he hurts himself with the promises.

A mean part of me wants to grumble about this, to appease my disappointment that The Doors of Stone has not been published. At the same time, the largest part of my is utterly sympathetic. I totally get his block and how as it goes on, the all gets thicker. And yet, like sisyphus, he cannot stop.

I root so hard for Doors of Stone to come out (and for Winds of Winter/A Dream of Spring from Martin) but big agree, don't make promises.
