Permeable pavers!

More than just permeable. The pavers form a grid with large holes in it. Not only can water percolate downwards, the holes expose enough soil for grass to grow. When a vehicle rolls over it, the pavers take the weight, preventing the soil compaction that would otherwise kill the grass.

Of course, that does mean you'll occasionally have to mow the parking lot :-)

How do these pavers handle freezing? My understanding is that they're really vulnerable to frost heave
