My mom's cousin was an opera singer in Canada and when he passed the CBC didn't want his record collection saying that vinyl was dead. My aunt stored it for a few years and then asked me if I wanted and I said sure and I had to go and get a 5-ton truck to Winnipeg to haul it all home

The CBC called up relatives and asked if they could still have the record collection and told me I had it and I fended off calls from them for months saying I wouldn't do it. I have loaned a few of them out to the CBC for Randy Bachman's vinyl tap on the condition that they get returned

And what a pleasure to read your review of that Traffic album. Takes me back to the dorm in 1972. The minor key verses shifting the major in the chorus makes the song feel both contemplative and uplifting. A great Winwood piano solo, up there with his solo in "Well All Right," on the Blind Faith.

It was. I kept things friends had put out (obviously!) then others with sentimental value or that I loved and just ran out of time to digitize and knew finding online would be tough.

I have about 3000 albums and 1000 7 inches, then moved to Canada from Oakland eight years ago. There wasn't an economical way to bring them with me, so I sold all but a about 100 of each that I kept for sentimental reasons. I did digitize what I could, and kept my holy grail record.

I can't tell you how nice it is to open the inspector on a site like this and see how simple and clean it is. Was it built using a framework or are you just hand-coding everything?
