Since I've been of age I've offered to show anyone curious how to handle, fire, clean etc a firearm. I figure if we're gonna have ubiquitous guns here, people should at least know how to not accidently themselves.
I like the way Japan does it. Psych evals, criminal record review, and eye exams annually to both get and renew your license.
I shouldn't be able to legally own a gun in the U.S. because I have a fuckity sense of depth perception. The fact that I can is super wrong. I'm logistically dangerous.
Since the midterms and accepting the U.S. as it is, I've gotten back into target practice and being prepared for just about anything. My goal is to compete this year.

While you're at it, you might want to suggest people take first aid and "stop the bleed" courses because nothing sucks more than, well, a sucking chest wound.
Biggest lie sold and bought was that "the pen is mightier than the sword" — with one held in each hand you can not only write history, but protect your right to do so. The educated mind should be the fighting kind.
