For something with Pitchford's grease slathered all over it, it's shockingly tame as far as Borderlands is concerned. Even Borderlands 1, which is the straightest the series is ever played, has more zanyness in it. You think they'd wanna go all out and make it a Deadpool-style movie but nope.

It's because it's the only time two characters interact with eachother in like any way. Like one character can do a thing and another can't and they have to work together. Like in a movie with a story.

Seriously if you like bad movies like I do (like a mad scientist who wants to cut up a specimen and write notes on a rare disease) you gotta watch it. Absolutely fascinating watching a movie that refuses to do things you just took for granted in other movies like giving characters arcs

Like I know "things just happen" in every movie but I really can't exaggerate that borderlands is a movie where things just happen. Like they walk and then a bad guy shows up on a stupid hoverbike and then they drive around and a monster shows up and then they beat the monster and then next scene

Probably cause in a movie with all the trappings of "written by a board room that wanted their own MCU" that was a jarringly good use of a character actually interacting with the scene in a way MCU copycats haven't seen since the first Avengers movie
