Like i'm a Bi dude who find many people attractive but i'v always been reserved with making trans characters cause i don't wanna come off as i'm fetishizing

I feel this way about my writing. I don’t know if it is okay for me to create trans characters. I kind of lean toward “no.”

my thoughts are it should be okay as long as it's not some caricature and i make efforts to make them feel real.

I know drawing and creating female characters i can't fully express that experience well though i try.

Also wanted to add that I think too many people worry about not "presenting" things right that they just like never draw trans bodies or write trans characters (which is a shame imo, the lack of representation sucks sdufhsdf). :/

I think a lot of people worry too much about it. One guy (cis dude) I know was so worried about misrepresenting a trans oc he got that he changed their gender to cis and felt bad about it. I think in the long run more representation is better and worrying about not getting it right shows(more below)

FtM here but like I think its totally cool to do. I always love seeing people drawing more trans ocs. Def need more of it imo. As far as fetishizing idk what actually counts for that (since I've personally never seen anything "fetishy" with people drawing trans bodies) but I think you'd be fine ^^

I think it's fine either way. Trans people like sexy trans characters too. I think making it obv that the "sexualized" versions for fun/art are unrealistic. As long as you put this disclaimer SOMEWHERE, even just in tags. Probably helps a little too!
