The job of the Department Of Justice, ( it's right in the name), is to investigate criminal activity and prosecute anybody it believes broke the law. What Garland did was exactly political. He should be ashamed of himself.
That's not quite fair. You survive as a prosecutor by WINNING cases, by being circumspect about crimes you can't actually stick to him and NOT by filing reactionary and outraged charges against him, as gratifying as we might have found it (less gratifying, I guess, after Trump walked on all charges)
