It's absurd. Here we've been taken over by Christofascists and people are like "Oh you're not protesting exactly in the way I want". They need to grow the fuck up.
Indeed. And imagine being in their place, in the minority for every committee, for every vote, and threatened daily. I understand having criticism, but wtf. I blame the public for putting them in this position, because we did. Now is the time for *all* of us to do whatever we can.
Right. And hecklers here in the peanut gallery are nitpicking about every little thing. It's ridiculous. We all have to pull together in spite of our differences.
I’m frustrated with the Dem response to our moment, as well. But Stansbury is an odd target. Others in the chamber did nothing. Stansbury showed up and was not silent. She’s not the problem.
Some assume that Dems are concocting a solid response behind the scenes. I doubt it. Hope I’m wrong.
A few years ago, several churches started a thing where all members were encouraged to get out in the community to serve. The line was The Church has Left the Building. Democratic Representatives and Senators need to go to red districts and answer the questions the Republicans won’t.
I love that! When the members of Notre Dame went into the streets of Paris after that fire a few years back, it felt like an opportunity to do exactly that kind of thing. The church building is too often a crutch, a safe place for those who fear the world they are charged with serving.
Reps that were there said that the Republicans had seat fillers ready to take their seats. With the level of disengagement and misinformation would you be happy if it looked like the entire chamber was cheering?
