The protests give me hope. People are paying attention. Even with these abuses, eventually people will win. And are not giving up easily.

It's been a wake up call for me in a lot of ways.

My imagination didn't stretch far enough to see how one person one, with help of course, could do so much damage to so many people in such a short period of time.

People are paying attention when it affects THEM. The same old selfish 🇺🇸's who can't be bothered to care unless it impacts them in some personal way.

Maybe 🇺🇸's are getting what they deserve. What's unfortunate are the immigrants who are being harmed b/c of their apathy and it won't stop with them.

This is my fear. Too many seem to be overly trusting in our institutions. Was accused of being rude here on BS last night because I disagreed with trusting in SCROTUS. We settled in polite exchange, but she still thinks they’re “following the Constitution.”

And if she now feels this is settled Constitutional precedent? Will she quietly look away from evil, and go back to being a “white woman holding water for the patriarchy”? Or will she continue to resist? I don’t know, but it worries me.

Well said. I blame the trust on American exceptionalism & ignorance of the world outside. 🇺🇸's are some of the most "isolated" folks I've ever known. Many rarely even leave the state they were born in, IF they ever do. Imagine nevr interacting in any meaningful way w/ ppl who weren't raised like you.
