this was posted on tumblr a bit ago and someone was like "look at this lousy piece a garbage dagger. i hate this vile thing" and everyone was like "cranky because i've ensnared your longsword in my parry dagger arent you"
Specifically, it's a type of parry dagger known as a swordbreaker! They probably couldn't actually break swords, and were pretty rare, but they were made to catch blades and maintain control and they're such a cool design and I love them
