Hey. Its valid as a freelance artist to care about ur social media reach but u dont have to treat it so seriously that every art u make needs to get 50k likes… one of the best parts of art is being experimental and when ur only chasing likes u cant really experiment

(Henry Darger and Moondog for example)
While I understand the need for validation, I believe that is something that a person should talk with a therapist or friend about, not the void of the internet!
Not every piece is gonna resonate and be a hit, that's just the way it is.
Pick any top musical artist, not every son they've ever made is a hit. Any A-list actor or director, not every movie they've ever made smashed the box office.
Legitimate artists accept this.
Social media and capitalism almost made me hate music
Branched to drawing other media I enjoy like Halo and Destiny. And if something so happens to suddenly blow up it feels even more satisfying!
But yeah, we have let the hearts, and arrows go, and just go with the flow
See where the Pencil leads, and make what’s cool to you
The one rule is to not get burned out (even tho I got burned out really hard) I draw far less than previously. I take more time and I try from a while now to not make my next piece a dreadfull torment.
I literally don't care about those. Especially when majority of traffic are bots. I care far more about finding other people with same passion, struggles and determination to keep going.
