NPR started out with a *lot* of federal funding, which has always been a target of the authoritarian right
As a result, over the decades NPR has turned increasingly to corporate sponsors, with the result that only a small portion of their budget now comes from the government
I have little doubt they would survive a total cutoff of those funds, but the sad reality is that National Public Radio is barely "public" any more and the corporate money is poisonous stuff
Sure would be nice if we could find it in ourselves to fully fund them via our contributions
And if this guy moves this forward. General of an Army you can't counter with all the "Good Neighbors" I've met in my life.
