One of the sad things about the evolution of the Web is that I no longer feel browser extensions are worth the risk. (Not just Chrome; I won't add any to my Firefox.)
Last time I thought about it (a couple of years ago), I had the sense that Firefox extensions were probably likelier to be safer than Chrome extensions, if for no other reason than Ffox being a less attractive target for the bad guys. But it still didn't change my mind about not installing any (1/2)
(a) The browser already does pretty much everything I want it to do, and other apps do most of the rest.
(b) Given that I use my browser for sensitive stuff, like financial, I want minimal security risk. I won't even let 1Password hook in to fill in login credentials.
