You can’t divorce a candidate’s housing agenda from the broader context of why they’re running for office. It’s very clear that Josh Kraft is running for mayor to hand power back to the Good Ol’ Boys networks that Wu has challenged. Therefore, his calls for making housing more affordable ring hollow

Josh Kraft’s housing plan would scale back requirements on developers, offer "opt-in" rent control; Mayor Wu calls it "fake" and a "distraction" from an effort to "dismantle" affordability www.dotnews.com/2025/kraft-s...

Like, we have opt-in gun control in this country, if you don't want to have a gun you don't have to have one.
It's no less dumb when you read it.
So if your rent is $2000 today it could be $3250 in 10 years *adjusted for inflation* ($5200 nominally) *and* the landlord gets a tax writeoff for their generosity.
I hope Boston voters are smart enough to see through this fake policy.
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has JD credentials, City Council, proven integrity and family experience to lead.
