I used to work on a different version called Delta-gal, it even has a demo on itchio.
But the scope of it was way too large and I didn't want to use Unity engine anymore.
Now I started everything all over with a slightly different art style and mechanics while keeping some of the old concepts.
Before this there was awkwardness when she'd try to jump up on a platform and would get half the body above it and still couldn't get up because feet are not high enough.
So I had no choice but to add a ledge-grab.
I've already coded a double-jump (explosion effects are temporary).
There is also a grappling/swinging mechanic that works anywhere where there is stuff above.
These are pretty late game mechanics so I haven't figured out exact balancing for them yet.
i feel like it should be slightly higher than what it is, it feels like its exactly the height of 2 blocks at the moment but there ought be some leeway
I don't want to introduce too much vertical movement.
It could make looking around a bit awkward.
So it's meant to be more like an extension of the air time.
Besides there is some leeway since if she comes up just a bit short, she can still grab the ledge.

I have to think about the name some more.
