A woman will lead the Central Bank of Syria for the first time in the institution’s 70-year history after the country’s new leadership appointed Maysaa Sabrine, a former deputy governor of the bank, to helm it.

So they can blame her when the economy tanks coz the mullahs have taken over. They also think that with a women in charge organisations will be more willing to pour money in. I sincerely wish Maysaa luck.
They legit said they want sharia law…remember when the Taliban claimed that they were new and improved but not long after the oppression crap happened once again 😭💀
I hadn’t heard about that (I’m not familiar with the Syrian civil war so I won’t pretend to know anything I don’t) but that’s why I don’t want to be too optimistic. People do change but “Let’s treat women as objects and kill infidels” doesn’t quickly change into “Let’s be honest and fair”.
They've been distancing themselves from Sharia law over the last few years and are talking right now about the timetable for elections saying it may take up to four years to put a new govt in place. They just appointed a woman to run their central bank.
That group has been distancing themselves for years and no Sharia nation is going to appoint a woman to run their banking system. They're also talking right now about the timetable for elections.
No, they "legit" did not. They haven't said it for years and broke with the associations that did - years ago. They've also been running Aleppo without Sharia law and not without some praise for their governance.
Do you have any links proving me wrong or did you read that on a meme?
few Syrians are praising them, you didn’t actually read more than one article. “I demand links which I will just male laugh at even though they are legitimate sources because I need my online performative gold star!” Jfc
They lit up the Christmas tree and are already trying to influence schools. ☠️
I read more than one article, I watched more than one news story. I'm not saying it was as nice as Florida there but was an improvement to the governance of Aleppo. That could all be bs but I've seen that sort of thing multiple times.
? The US spends a lot of time trying to influence you too.
Oh, every little bitty step toward creating an enlightened 21st Century culture in the midst of countries who prefer the Dark Ages is to be applauded. Good start, Syria.
