My wife manages vacation rentals in San Luis Obispo county. It's a few hours away but her owners have agreed to discount stays 20% for anybody fleeing the fires.
Not all Landlords are doing it: My company is offering month-to-month leases and application fees refunded for those affected. We have not raised our prices because of the fire. DM me for info if you are in need.
Average rent for a two bedroom in Vancouver's Kitsilano area is $2000 USD. That might be $1500 when Trump is done with us.... come on... we ski and sail on the same day!! Life's great.
The same thing happened in Florida as well as other states on the East Coast after the Hurricanes ... some people will make a buck on the backs of those who flee for their lives just trying to survive... despicable!
Just what Harris talked about price gouging in an emergency!
GOP/MAGA wants CA to conform before funds released.
Will the CA Dems do something for others in CA or just be the selfish group they showed this summer?
