There's no one protesting outside where he's being held in Louisiana.
We consider other Americans to be our peers though so that part still works and yes, it's gaming the system but that's not uncommon. His lawyers can fight that but this is an unusual situation.
When there are people protesting one way or another about a case, you can make an argument for a tainted jury in that area. Typically they aren't moved far as far as I can recall but this isn't a normal citizen criminal case and I don't know enough about these laws to say for sure.
Not to mention the fact that even if you understand these laws, you have to understand how he's trying to at the very least, abuse them. I'm just not sure but everything he's doing he's at least trying to say is legal.
The remedy is to send him back so Trump had no reason to not try.

I’ve heard it was so trump could have this trial with very conservative judges. But isn’t a man to be judged by his peers?

Cause nobody is actually accusing this guy of anything!
