I’m glad that she’s back but DC has effectively made her obsolete because they spent a decade making Barbara into Stephanie 2.0 and Stephanie is back now, and that’s great, but DC hasn’t run back making Barbara Stephanie 2.0 and I think that’s why we will not see a Steph only book any time soon - ThreadSky

Which is the challenge of running multiple legacies together after deciding you didn’t want to do that because now you have a character with the fused properties of the one you axed and there’s no way to undo that so now things are in an awkward place

They've settled with her being from Earth 2 right? But then occasionally they reference her Spyral version (and occasionally we're reminded up her 90s version)? I almost wish they'd keep the Earth 2 stuff more firmly separated. Like the New 52 direction, but maybe the pre-crisis "older heroes"

God, no. There's Helena Bettinelli, who remains active in Gotham (and was the one in Spyral). And there's Helena Wayne (originally from Earth 2) who is now from the future, a generation hence, and is, as of the latest appearance, hanging out in the 31st century. But to confuse matters 1/2

Helena Wayne has had present day adventures fairly recently, and DC continues to have them swap costumes, making it damn near impossible to tell which is supposed to be which in any appearance. 2/2

Truth! That Bryan Q Miller run is so great and then years later it was all... appropriated. Also didn't help that with Batwoman around and building her own world (and no offense to that character or creative team) there were probably "too many" Bat-women (despite all the Robins and Bat-men)

They really should've just let Barbara be Oracle and make that more of a distinct identity for her. She was the heart of the DC super hero community. Steph is so great as a street hero who makes it up as she goes and brings good energy to everyone.
