Die Hard *only works* because it’s set at Xmas. Is anyone ever inviting their estranged husband to travel the full width of the US for a generic work function on the 7th of April? Is there going to be a huge piss up in Nakatomi Plaza which all the employees attend on some random Wednesday? 🤦‍♂️

Your annual reminder that Die Hard is not a Christmas movie. My main reasons:

— There are no real Christmas themes in the movie.

— It could take place anytime of year and the plot wouldn’t have been any different. A Christmas Story, for example, is centered around Ralphie’s gift.
