MEN get opportunities for being "controversial" women do not get that luxury. Instead, we're framed as crazy, unhinged, loud, and generally "too much." Women are targets of outrage lose opportunities, they lose speaking gigs, book deals, jobs, I have reported on so many terrible cases.

If ur a woman & u respond to a hate/smear campaign, male journalists will both-sides it, & frame it as a "spat" or "drama" (ignoring that ur the target/victim not the instigator) If u don't respond, the smear campaign and harassment runs wild unchecked and ur reputation is ruined. There's no winning

And if you think this results in Substack subscribers or any benefit to women's careers who are targeted, please look at the careers of the women I've covered who have been targeted. They are pushed out of any positions of power, they retreat, many of them have permanent phycological damage.
