People who are scared of TikTok also don’t understand the harms of the wider ecosystem and how a ban effectively does nothing to achieve its goals.

I find it much too easy to believe that the bipartisan animosity towards TikTok is less to do with China, and more to do with suddenly needing a whole new level of control over the narrative concerning certain events in the Middle East.

Unfortunately as dumb and wrong as this is, Facebook is still an American company and it's protected by the Constitution. And like I said I absolutely understand what she's talking about. Every company does this with their data and it's wrong.

Didn't the Supreme court say that company is a "person"? Which I would assume would give it constitutional protection.
