. @kenklippenstein.bsky.social joined me to break down why TikTok was REALLY banned, according to the very lawmakers who banned it. It was never about China. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sht8_uHPSWo

Certainly there must be some legitimate security concerns, which would explain why Canadian government officials aren't allowed to have it on their work phones. Not a total ban obviously, but there must be a good reason.
Just watched your episode on A Bit Fruity about conservative aesthetics in culture and it was really helpful and informative for understanding how and why we got here. I'm in my mid thirties now so I wasn't really paying attention to the TikTok/insta side, but now I'm thinking about lefty aspiration
as aesthetic. I obviously don't want the classic Republican cosplay of working class, but wondering if there's a solidarity, all of us or none of us inspired aesthetic that could be popularized.
Even though TikTok is back, my curated community within my acct is gone. It’s not the same place. When they took it down to do whatever they did, they nuked our communities, making it more difficult to organize anything. It was a power play against free speech & we lost at every level of govt.
No I put it out as a YouTube bonus ep because I'm legit concerned that my brand partners would be targeted by Zionist activists if I put it out in the main feed :(
I don’t know if this was the reason TikTok was banned but there are only a few things that can get Congress to move in lockstep like they did. I do know it was not for the protection of the American public.
You folks nailed it with the degree of contempt the boomers hold for free speech. The democrats have such an opportunity to become a true opposition party with such minimal effort, but with people like these at the top, it’s not gonna happen.
