I think it's ignorant that they dothis, but I don't think it's why we lose elections. Ohio for example, there's enough democrat votes there, they just don't vote, Republicans are more devout to vote. Democrats there being demoralized by the imagined red wall.
**AFRAID** to just abolish death penalty outright they held a shotgun-wedding for basically DIFFERENT issues by assuming FALSE EQUIVALENCE. Adjudicated CRIMES/assault upon other individuals' bodily autonomy =/= individuals asserting their own bodily autonomy in reproductive & end-of-life situations
