Hamamelis vernalis. Native to South Central United States but is hardy here in NJ. It blooms late winter and may retain some browned leaves. It gets up to 10-15' Happiest in full to part-sun.Tolerant of rocky, clay, and moist soils w/ good drainage. Some deer resistance. Fall color is gold-yellow.
