I *LOOOOOVE* Emily Kimelman!!!! 😍 The Sydney Rye series is one of my absolute faves. I blew through all those and am now listening to Bobbi Holmes’ (aka Anna J McIntyre) ghost series on hoopla, and I’m loving that too. They’re NOTHING alike, so you may not like them, but it’s like 35 books! 😍

Yes!!! I discovered the Sydney Rye series a couple of months ago and went through them 3x in a row to absorb all the amazingness of them! I don’t understand how she is not more widely known. I’ll have to check out the Bobbi Holmes series.

I love certain paranormal books but not vampires/werewolves, so it’s hard to differentiate. I swear America LOVES those two! They’re everywhere!😆

I hope Emily Kimelman creates a bluesky account. It would be totally badass. Literally listening to the audiobook right at this moment. I started the first book over as I found out why it’s so hard to read is not lack of intelligence like people mocked me for growing up but because I’m dyslexic.

My mom was also dyslexic. It was a struggle for her to read, but she used to sit my brother and me down in the hallway between our bedrooms and read to us every night before bed. That sticks in my mind as a real Act of Love.

Wow! I'm just wondering how difficult writing was for you, then. Or was it?

My dad was dyslexic - we THINK 🤔 The thing was - he was born in 1933, and they didn't diagnose that then. I'm not sure how much people even knew about it.

But it made him think he was "dumb," that's the sad part.

My mom, (born 1926) also thought she was dumb because of dyslexia. She was the youngest in a family of 8, several of whom were Valedictorian & Salutatorian in their class. It took her 10 years after HS graduation to decide she could try college across the country.

I was super lucky and went to a specialized school just for dyslexic kids. I went from not reading to basically college level in one moment. I actually remember the first thing I read, "Roses" on a flower sellers sign. Then I looked around and could read everything. Wild.
