Honestly right now this is something im really struggling with because the local orgs i did help ended up all going away this year and trying to find something that actually uses my brain is hard to find.

Shoot, even attending any sort of event is enough to let someone know that there are people who are interested. Networking leads to more ideas. I hope you can find something soon! Look to libraries, shelters, food banks, etc.

Not really - I'm sure there's something out there but I go to places like libraries or coffee shops and they usually have bulletin boards with community events thumbtacked to it.

Go to the events, reach out to people, ask around. Look online for certifications on your interests too, maybe. ❤️

Obviously, keep yourself safe and do what you can do, but I encourage you to push forward and try new things. Of course, you may fail, but it's better than not trying and, in many cases, will set things in motion or plant seeds of ideas that will blossom into some semblance of community.

It's not an easy path, coming from someone who felt like an outsider their whole life, stricken with depression and anxiety. But you use it to fuel you forward. Work on yourself but also know that life is a never ending journey of learning. You will never be "perfect". No one will.

As I sat at a meeting for a horticultural community organization, I couldn't help but realize that everyone there was 20+ years older than me. We need more younger voices. These people were set on the old ways of RoundUp and Tordon. I spoke out against it. Maybe they didn't listen, but its a start.

Look to your libraries, homeless shelters, animal shelters, food banks, community gardens, etc., and ask how you can help.

Even attending events lets others know that you are interested and may lead to more events being held in the future. Network within these circles. You can do it!
