I have this side project and I was so excited to work on it over the holidays and maybe finish it, but then I realized I would rather relax and enjoy family time and work on it at a more luxurious pace through the year.

I have a few “10 hours per year” projects - I struggled with accepting that this is OK for a long time, but ultimately realized that they are not there to make money for the shareholders but to help me enjoy technology and help people if they want to.
I think it’s so important to share this kind of attitude. I love the hustle culture and I love our industry and I love code but none of it can replace my family.

I did the same thing. Was going to build something serious, but instead decided to do some tinkering and learning early mornings, and spend the rest of the time with family. It’s so refreshing!

Work is stressful enough, some things can be for the fun of it
Though I have 0 regrets for watching YT and playing video games the last few days. I'm healed.
I'm stressed with all the ways various tools are finding not to work together! :(
