This stuff is hard, ego sometimes wants to get in the way. You can’t let it. You aren’t going to be universally adored and that’s fine. You have to right by people anyways.

We shouldn’t be striving to be *disliked* but it happens, and you have a responsibility to people regardless.

Reminds me of the DHH thing, when they banned “political” speech. When I heard the story it sounded like he was acting fragile because someone raised what they thought was racism within the company. He just kept doubling down.

I struggle to find examples of these kinds of leaders now. In fact, people who do demonstrate these qualities end up getting overlooked or dismissed. The whole culture around “what is leadership?” has been turned upside down.
