All the blah blah blah about young Liam Lawson being replaced by Red Bull is nonsense. The problem is the car. If Verstappen can’t get a win with it then nobody can. A slow RB is a bad car, not another easy to blame rookie. Rookies are people, not fodder to burn when the car doesn’t win. - ThreadSky

I agree, that car is a hand full and clearly not on the level of the mclarens and maybe mercs/ferraris that being said the delta between liam and max is far too big. even 2024 checo wasnt this bad

To an extent I agree. There is a fundamental issue with that car. But Bortoleto is also driving a tractor and has much less experience. I think the track wasn't ideal for the car with the way the front is set up. So I want to see how he does on another.

You’re right about Bortoleto, but he too deserves a good period of time to bed-in. The rookies who are excelling, will meet a period of poor form as others find their fee eg. Albon. They need a break over which informed opinion can be arrived at based on data/many races.

That's why I'll wait to reserve judgement for a few races more suited to the car. I think it has been his attitude leading to getting the seat that's put extra criticism on his back. If he came in with a bit more humility I don't think there would be as much talk.

The stories of his demise is totemic of Red Bull. Lawson clearly needs assistance, an honest period of time and public reassurance to prove his worth. The team is trashing is wetware like its hardware and F1 is a people business.
