Was the economy really good in Trump's first term? If you watched/listened to the mainstream media, you would think it was a great economy & Trump media surrogates went out of their way to promote even mediocre economic news as amazing & were rarely challenged by the media.

However, I do remember (GDP) growth rate of 3%average with year-over-year inflation rate during Trump's first term of approximately 2.46% vs 5% under Biden
Budget deficit of 984 billion which Biden doubled to 1.833 Trillion
In 2020, GDP shrunk -2.2%, which brings Trump's 4 year avg to 1.8%
Biden's first 3 years were 5.8%, 1.9% and 2.5%, an average of 3.4%
Your memory is faulty.
✅ Higher in 2018 (due to tax cuts and economic growth) but remained stable.
✅ Dropped significantly in 2020 due to the pandemic's impact on demand.
In comparison: Inflation spiked dramatically under Biden, reaching 9.1% in June 2022
The unemployment rate declined from 4.7% shortly after Trump's election to 3.5% by the end of 2019. Pretty much full employment. COVID was a Fauci and policy disaster
Unemployment decreased after the 2008 crisis and 2009 recession. Obama took credit
The buck stops with the president, so you can't discount covid because Trump colossally botched covid preparation & response, just like you can't discount H1N1 & the Great Bush Recession for Obama, or 9/11 for Bush Jr, the Arab oil embargo for Nixon, Vietnam for 3 presidents, etc
Biden refused to secure the Border with Mex
Ignored high inflation and actively promoted Trans and DEI programs that are unpopular with the majority of voters
These issues contributed to voter dissatisfaction, particularly among working-class voters

The 1st EIA pic given just for column orientation👇
It quickly became obvious that Trump was a poor choice in a crisis.

Trump "fixed" nothing; he merely took credit for Barack Obama's hard work.
