The corruption is going to be staggering for the next 4 years. Constitution be dammed. He's there to make money - period.
Just throw out that oath of office - means nothing at all.
My husband & I noted different prices 4 the same products at Home Depot. One on the “blk side of town” & 1 on the diverse side. We chose to shop at Lumber 84 & found their pricing to be significantly cheaper. Has I not asked him to check that store on his way, we never have known this was a thing.
I really don’t want to think that way. There will always be people who will have the moral warehouse to stand up for what is right. To push back against the lies and corruption! Let’s hope those people don’t falter or succumb too.
EXACTLY! The media is to blame for their continued focus on negatives, knowing a car wreck gets more clicks. Investigative probing, journalism, and revealing the grift has died.
What changed was that Nixon’s people recognized they could divide people over cultural issues after the 1965 Voting Rights Act and any time folks woke up to the fact they were getting fleeced, Republicans yelled about Black folks, or abortion, or CRT or DEI, or trans folks. High time we call it out.
I believe that we have known that Amazon has been doing this for awhile. Something about higher prices for Mac users vs PC? Am I remembering that correctly?
On a personal note - from someone just beginning to need reading glasses - god damn designers overly enamored with grey text and tiny light fonts on white.
Browsing history-dependent airfare prices have been obvious since at least a decade. With confident denials from all entities involved, of course, including Google.
I don't need to say "don't believe their lies", right?
This is why I always click to reject cookies, and why I use browsers that block tracking.
It's not 100%, I'm tracked by Google and meta. But it reduces their impact.
😵💫Impeachment #3 ?
“Trump launched his own cryptocurrency. By morning he appeared to have made more than $25 billion, at least on paper. According to Eric Lipton at the New York Times, “ethics experts assailed [the business] as a blatant effort to cash in on the office he is about to occupy again.” “
Why they kept this all so quite and never letting the public know in a bigger way shows a quite presidency is never popular because you don’t know what is being done/completed. Why was this no talked about more?
My understanding (I think it was from legalAF today) is that they are trying to bung up the system, as it were lol To make a whole lot of work for them to have to UNdo before they can get on with whatever evil plots they want to get on with. It’s a stalling tactic.
Snip-"Using data from 6 of the 8 companies show prices are not static. Middlemen can target individuals using their location, browsing patterns, shopping history, and even the way they move a mouse over a webpage. They can also use that data to show higher-priced products first in web searches."
I hope all those marchers protesting in the Mall are well away from DC by Monday. If they’re not they’ll be trump’s ‘thousands of people outside trying to get in to see me’.
This happens depending on the location that I search for an item. If I go to a nearby city and shop online I can see a difference in prices then from my suburban home. It’s total BS.
Similar experience here. I have also looked at an item online, placed it in my cart, got distracted and returned later on. When I come back later the price has changed, usually higher. I empty my cart and go back to the original listing for the item and the original lower price shows up.
I really think we should start thinking of data privacy as a form of protest. Like a data boycott.
Corporations are making so much money off our data, we could starve them by locking down our data. Use websites over installing apps, decline cookies, use VPNs etc.
This information of course is not surprising. Not to say I didn’t learn something from it. But as we know, consumer protections for years from now will be so degraded that you will more or less be on your own. Caveat emptor. That will be our country‘s mantra.
I worry about what will happen to Lina Khan. Obviously she won't have her position much longer but since corpos hate her and clearly they are bending the knee to Trump I fear for her safety.
Thankfully, when I talk to folks about her most of them have no idea who she is.
MAGA doesn’t realize the symbolism of [Trump] moving the inauguration inside: The billionaires, millionaires and oligarchs will be at his side, while his loyal followers are left outside in the cold. Welcome to the next 4+ years.
Agree. I understand why Retard is insensitive and I shouldn’t use it any longer but it’s been really difficult to eliminate it from my lexicon. We’re living in the dumbest timeline and it’s threatening our way of life.
The soon to be even more neutered FTC, IRS, and other federal agencies will be abused in similar fashion. Gruesome outcomes for next decade or more, don't you think?
“The FTC should continue to investigate surveillance pricing practices because Americans deserve to know how their private data is being used to set the prices they pay and whether firms are charging different people different prices for the same good or service.”

I believe it is time for a Declaration of Interdependence as we unite to resist. The power of declaration can help us to focus on common goals.

1. Why wait til now to sue?
2. Can't the suits just be dropped after Monday?

Not sure where those cases go when the transactional turncoats take over, but FTC effort is at least noted.

Let's all live up to our capitalist ideals & not buy stuff. Yep, from the depths of our capitalist hearts.
Demand drives markets.
Like democracy? Don't buy stuff.
Don't like the massive climate events? Want to live out your natural life? Hardcore frugal.
Market adjusts. Capitalism 🥰
