For Easter, please remember that bunnies are not an easy or “starter” pet; they’re a decade or more commitment and they will drink your blood as you sleep.

The Vampire Rabbit of Newcastle lurks behind St Nicholas’s Cathedral It has been perching over the door of the cathedral buildings for over hundred years.
Noah Smith has written about bunnies and the attention and care they need. Cats are quite a bit easier, not that they don´t need appropriate attention and care, of course.
A few years back now, this little jerk had to wear a cone because he kept trying to chew his own toes off. I tried using socks initially, but he constantly figured out ways to slip them off. He's easily over ten years old now and I love his dearly. Even if he's missing two toes on one foot. 💖🐇
He had a weird tummy problem that caused temporary paralysis in his back leg. Vet said she had never encountered it before and I still have no idea what triggered it.
He was most likely chewing on his toes cause he was annoyed by them. 😑
Rabbits don't seem like easy pets to keep. My friends who've had them explained most have to be hutched when unattended because they can be inexplicably destructive in your personal space. They have not had centuries of domestication like cats and dogs.
My friend's bunny chewed through the walls of the house to the electrical wiring. Bunnies teeth keep growing continuously so they chew to keep them from being excessively long.
Ours didn’t drink our blood as we slept. But they did come up and pee on our heads!!😱😂🐰 we had NO idea what we were in for when we got them. But love our sassy buns SO much.

But they are easy to love. I had mine for almost 11 years. It takes a while to learn bunny body language too but it's very important to know when they don't feel good. Also you will know that your behaviour is unacceptable to bunnies when you get "The Back". 😆
They are sweet, but you need to research how to care for them. Ours lived 15 years. She was a dwarf lop that my daughter got when she was 3 as a reward for sleeping in her own bed. She named the bunny Emily Hoppertina 😂.

It was the most inadvisable course of action I've ever embarked upon.
